Univerco has added several new features and improvements to its G3 onion harvester so that it can now harvest Vidalia, early and intermediate onions.
A double belt on the front picker eliminates dirt, and the inspection table eliminates any potential rocks and weeds before the topper table. Several adjustments of speed and angle on the topper table allow the operator to maximize tops and roots cutting while minimizing bruising.
The steering axle is new to reduce turning radius, and there are new cameras allowing the operator to see various parts of the machine from the driver’s seat. Brushes have been added under the rollers of the topper table to keep the rollers clean, reducing staining on the onions. A chute at the end of the loading conveyor reduces the drop of the onions into the bins or truck.
