New York is out of onions, and white onions in the PNW and Idaho/Malheur are also sold out. Whites imported from Mexico are nearly gone.
This light supply caused prices of the Mexican imports to shoot up to $42.50 for a 50 lb. sack of jumbos. This is up $7.50 from a week ago and a staggering $33.50 from 2018 at this time.
Demand is good or better in most markets, triggering nice gains over last week and over last year.
