NOA urges members to contact their congressional representative to support this legislation

The National Onion Association (NOA) announced that lawmakers working on the Farm Workforce Modernization Act reintroduced the bill Wednesday, November 13 with a few technical fixes and some additional original co-sponsors. The new bill number is HR 5038.

The two technical changes from the last bill are on pages 13/14 (fixing language about public benefits) and page 33 (fixing language about who has the authority to cancel a removal order). These technical corrections had been identified in the technical assistance vetting process with the relevant federal agencies.

The House Judiciary Committee is to consider the bill next Wednesday, November 20. The NOA is encouraging all individuals and organizations that want to see a reform process advance in the House to weigh in with judiciary contacts, on both sides of the aisle, to urge support for the bill in the committee mark-up.
