The annual, single-day Malheur Onion Variety Day has not gone virtual, but there are changes this year.
The event will now take place over three days, Aug. 25, 26, and 27, 2020
There are three different time slots each day, and a reservation is required to save a spot. Time slots are: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 2 p.m.
Organizers are asking to keep everyone healthy, the following guidelines will be observed:
- This year there will have a self-guided tour, similar to past variety days with plot maps provided.
- To help maintain social distancing RSVP for the time slot(s) you would like to attend.
- Maintain social distancing.
- Face coverings are REQUIRED.
- Hand sanitizer and face coverings will be provided if you do not have one available.
- Because of COVID-19, no lunch or refreshments will be provided this year.
The tour is located at Malheur Experiment Station, 595 Onion Ave., Ontario, OR, in the north field off Onion Ave., follow the signs.
