2020 Michigan Onion Committee Trial Results
- Lots of good onion varieties with varying maturities. Bulb size was influenced by the stand.
- Highlander and Outlander have similar early maturity with similar size.
- Powell had very good roots on August 20, perhaps related to its disease tolerance. Less pink root.
- Haeckero has some disease tolerance.
- SVNY showed similarities to Powell and Aldrin with good taller tops.
- Aldrin gives good taller growth with its longer maturity.
- 37-118,37-120 & 37-121 showed good growth and size.
- Scout had more tipburn than the other varieties, but produced good size.
- Quintus showed earlier maturity than the listed 112 days.
