White-rot

An aerial image shows the Allium trap crop trial at the University of California Agricultural & Natural Resources Intermountain Research and Extension Center. The trial is evaluating five termination timings (second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth true leaf stage) and the effects of an in-furrow fungicide (penthiopyrad) to stimulate sclerotial germination and prevent reproduction of the white rot pathogen, Sclerotium cepivorum.
