Onion Shipping Point Prices for May 3, 2021
Mexican onions have run out, but Imperial Valley, California, has started moving product. All prices are up over last year with the exception of medium yellows.
Also new to our chart this week are organic onions from Vidalia, Georgia. They debuted 50 cents lower than early May, 2020.
Most prices have continued to drop in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas. Whites are down $2 since March 22, and yellows are down 31 cents on average in the same timeframe. Reds from this area, however, are steady and remain the lone bright spot, $2 over last year.
