The Idaho and Malheur County, Ore., Central Wisconsin and East Coast Peruvian Import shipping areas have all run out of onions. Columbia Basin, Wash. and Umatilla Basin, Ore. still has some stock, but whites and yellow colossals are sold out.
But Vidalia, Georgia sweets and organics are back and in good demand. The Vidalias started shipping April 12, and the sweets are $8 over 2021. Organic Vidalias were not available until May of last year, but the 2021 debut price was $27, compared with $34 today.
The bright spot on this chart are whites from Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas, up $5 since our last report on April 4.
