Restrain is the manufacturer of a unique generator that converts ethanol into ethylene gas for the control of sprouts in onions and potatoes. New to the U.S., but used in over 40 countries, the technology has been proven effective to control sprouts in long-term storages.
According to the company, the process is safe for storage managers, leaves no residue and is the only post-harvest sprout control for onions, shallots and garlic.
