Onion Shipping Point Prices for Sept. 5, 2023
San Joaquin Valley, California is still shipping onions, but they must be close to running out. In what is probably the last gasp on our reports for the area this year, yellows are up on average $2.38 and reds are up 50 cents in the last week.
Demand is moderate is all areas, but prices remain well below last year’s record highs except for Peruvian imports. These sweets, shipped from the East Coast, have stayed the exact same price as when they started shipping in early August and are a dollar more than the lowest dip in 2022.
