The National Onion Association (NOA) has launched a new program, Certified Delicious, that recognizes restaurants and chefs who put fresh and plentiful onions in their regular menu items.

Once a dish has been found, the NOA sends a letter and certificate to chefs, GMs or owners about the program, and asks that they share a picture of themselves with their certificate or onion dish on their social pages using the hashtags #CertifiedDelicious and #weknowonions.

The NOA also puts a direct link to the restaurant’s website from the Certified Delicious webpage and sends out press releases to local media outlets in the restaurant’s area.

Rules of the program:

  • Only U.S. restaurants are eligible.
  • Restaurants cannot request to be a part of this list.
  • Only NOA members can nominate/identify restaurants.
  • Meals can only have fresh onions; no pre-prepared or frozen onions allowed.Â
