Onion Shipping Point Prices For April 1, 2024
The Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas area is now shipping yellows, whites, and reds. There are more onions on the market than we’ve seen in some time, though whites remain tight. The PNW is now out of whites, and they are only available from Texas or Mexico.
Rio Grande whites debuted $33.75 higher on average than 2023. Yellows from here are averaging almost $12 more and reds are $14.50 higher than last year.
Vidalias will start shipping April 17, and the smart money says they will also be higher than last year. What a great year it’s been for prices!
