Five Areas Still Shipping Onions

Onion Shipping Point Prices for May 13, 2025

By this time last year, the Columbia Basin, Washington & Umatilla Basin, Oregon, the New York and the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas shipping areas were all out of onions. This year, supplies are dwindling, but all three areas are still moving onions.

Prices have been mostly stable in the last couple weeks, with only Imperial Valley, Calif. seeing some minor fluctuations and demand is reported as “moderate” and even “good” in Texas and California.
