Onion Shipping Point Prices for August 18, 2025
Idaho and Malheur County, Oregon, aka Treasure Valley, started shipping yellows and reds on August 11 and added whites this week. All three varieties are severely down from last year.
Only yellow mediums are even remotely close to 2024’s price, down $2.50. Whites and reds are more disappointing comparing them to last year at this time, the former down an average of $10.50 and the latter off $8.25 on average.
Walla Walla, Wash. has run out of their sweet onions and San Joaquin Valley, Calif. has run out of whites. The Columbia Basin, Washington & Umatilla Basin, Oregon shipping area has stepped into to fill the white void, shipping their first ones this week.
