Smaller yellows and jumbo whites are now crossing into the U.S. from Mexico through South Texas. Supply is fairly light, but so is demand.

These onions are shipping a month earlier than last year, so there is no true data from early February 2025. But when comparing prices to early March 2025, the 2026 yellows are up $2.75 on average and the whites are up $1.

This is the first time in a long while we’ve seen debut prices up over the previous year. Hopefully, a sign of things to come in the market.
