Onion Shipping Point Prices for March 23, 2020
Two weeks ago, we were seeing only moderate demand at best, and prices were in the tank. Now, due to Coronavirus buying panic, demand is outpacing supply, driving the market way up.
The PNW and Idaho/Malheur areas have run out of whites and Peruvian onions are also gone. The only whites showing up are those in Texas. The Lower Rio Grande is on the report for the first time this year, with whites mostly $28, but as high as $30.
