Onion Shipping Point Prices for July 29, 2020
Columbia Basin, Washington and Umatilla Basin, Oregon have started shipping yellow and red onions with an average price of $8.50. There is no historical data from one year ago, but those same onions averaged $7 in August of 2019.
Southern New Mexico saw a jump across almost all varieties, but they are still well down from 2019 prices with the exception of medium reds. The smaller reds are actually up 50 cents.
Vidalia has run out of onions, a couple weeks earlier than last year.
