NOA Announces Staff Changes

Johnston Herbst

After 5 years at the National Onion Association (NOA), Sharla Johnston is moving on.

Sharla was hired at the NOA in late 2015, after spending 6 1/2 years at the town of Severance as the town’s treasurer. She has taken a position with the Logan County Extension Office in northeastern Colorado to correspond with her recent move to Sterling, Colorado.

“Sharla has amassed a great knowledge of the onion world and will be missed by the association,” said NOA Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Greg Yielding.

Courtney Herbst has joined the NOA following Johnston’s departure.

Courtney is a lifelong Colorado resident who has a passion for photography and the outdoors. She spent 13 years helping her ex-husband on their silage farm, and she has raised many animals throughout her life. Today, she has two very spoiled dogs, an 11-year-old son, a 13-year-old daughter, and one adult son.

She has worked in accounts receivable and data entry for 15 years. Contact Herbst at cherbst@onions-usa.org
