Onion Shipping Point Prices for July 12, 2021
Shippers lucky enough to still have white onions in southern New Mexico can take advantage of a $9 price surge in the last two weeks. White supply is characterized as “very light” and demand is good, leading to prices of $19 and $20 per sack.
Reds and medium yellows are also on the upswing in the Southwest’s Land of Enchantment.
In San Joaquin Valley, Calif., medium reds saw a 50 cent gain in the last week, somewhat offsetting the same amount lost on three other varieties.
