More than 80 representatives of American organizations representing the U.S. agriculture industry — including the National Onion Association (NOA), — have signed off on a letter objecting to an Aug. 30 rule by the Environmental Protection Agency to revoke all tolerances of the insecticide, Chlorpyrifos.
The letter stated that the order banning Chlorpyrifos will devastate American farms that rely on the insecticide for their crops’ survival.
“This action will leave thousands of growers across the country defenseless to devastating pests, which is why we also request that EPA stay implementation of this rule until the Agency can thoroughly consider and respond to objections,” the letter stated.
