Onion Shipping Point Prices for April 4, 2022
Light and moderate demand took a toll as only onions shipping from Central Wisconsin escaped a dip in prices over the past week. All prices remain well above 2021, however.
Mexico crossings through South Texas are up over last year by an average of $8.44, but prices are well off their 2022 debut. Jumbo whites, for instance, are now selling for $18, but were moving for $30 in late February. Jumbo sweets from this area are the lone bright spot on this report, up $1.50 over the last week.
Idaho and Malheur County, Ore. has seen a drop of $3.67 on average over the last month, but still average nearly $9 over 2021.
