Onion Shipping Point Prices for June 27, 2022
Imperial Valley, California, has run out of onions, but the San Joaquin Valley area of the Golden State is now shipping bigger yellows and whites.
Though the market is unsettled, demand is good in San Joaquin. Super colossal and colossal yellows opened the season at $16.50 per 50 lb. sack; jumbo and medium whites $19 and $18.50 respectively.
In Southern New Mexico, demand exceeds supply. Harvest has been curtailed due to rain and wet fields. Reds and medium whites in the area took a fifty cent hit in the last week, but yellow colossals, jumbos, mediums and white jumbos are all up by an average of $1.63.
