We haven’t seen this much green on our onion shipping point price charts in a very long time. In the last week, onion prices in Southern New Mexico are up $1.69 on average and over $1 in the San Joaquin Valley, Calif. In Walla Walla, Wash., prices haven’t changed since their sweets debuted in June, but they are up 50 cents from 2024.
While these increases are not huge, it is a positive sign and difference from the slowly and constantly declining prices we’ve documented over the last year. Hopefully, we’ll see more of this in the coming months.
