June 27 Named National Onion Day

The National Day Calendar has designated June 27 as National Onion Day. The National Onion Association (NOA) successfully applied for the designation to memorialize the NOA’s formation on June 27, 1913.

Of the 18,000 applications submitted each year, the National Day Calendar only approves about 30. With the designation, the NOA will be included on the annual digital version of the national calendar, its social media channels and its printed wall calendar. Onions share June 27 with a few other observances including National Ice Cream Cake Day and National Sunglasses Day.
