Onion Shipping Point Prices for August 23, 2021
Various East Coast packers are now shipping sweet yellow jumbos from Peru at $22.50 for a 40 lb. carton. This price is down from $24 in 2020.
But in the Columbia Basin, all varieties are up from last year except medium yellows. Whites are way up, $3.75 on average.
The same thing holds true in Idaho and Malheur County, Oregon. Medium yellows are down 3 bucks, but everything else is up $2 on average from 2020.
