Onion Shipping Point Prices for November 29, 2021
On Nov. 16, red onions shipping from New York took a big leap in price. One day after our last report (go figure), medium reds surged $8 per 50 lb. sack to $29, and jumbos went up $4 to $33. These same prices remain today.
New York didn’t have any red jumbos last year to gauge against, but their medium reds are $15.50 over last year. This number is the highest green one on the chart, meaning these reds are higher priced compared to last year than anything else, from any shipping point.
Nothing else has changed in the last two weeks with the exception of Michigan yellows, up 25 cents.
