The National Onion Association (NOA) is planning its first international tour in nearly a decade. From May 27 through June 11, 2026, NOA members will experience Europe through a mix of classic destinations and behind-the-scenes visits with leading onion growers, shippers and suppliers.
More than just a sightseeing tour, the NOA is promoting the trip as a chance to see how European counterparts work, build relationships and enjoy unforgettable travel along the way. Here’s what’s planned:
- Copenhagen, Denmark: Begin the journey in Denmark’s capital with guided touring, plus visits to Sweden and Maanssons, a Danish onion grower/shipper/packer.
- Amsterdam, Netherlands: Tour innovative onion operations, including a fully automated onion shed with Eqraft and NNZ. Enjoy dinner with the Dutch Onion Association and explore Amsterdam, including the Alkmaar Cheese Market.
- Bologna, Italy: Discover this historic city and visit Unitec.
- Venice, Italy: Travel by train to Venice for two days of touring before flying home.
Anyone interested in going on the trip is asked to contact Greg Yielding or call the NOA office at (970) 353-5895. Early interest will help determine if the tour moves forward.
