Onion Shipping Point Prices for Dec. 26, 2023
In the last week, onion prices have been fairly stable, with only four (positive) changes shown on the chart below. But in the last two weeks, prices took another leap up from our last report. Even more enlightening are the increases seen in the last month.
On November 27, whites in Columbia Basin, Washington & Umatilla Basin, Oregon averaged $13.25. Now, those same onions average $35.50. If you’re keeping score, that’s an increase of $22.25 in one month. Yellows from this region are also impressively up, jumping $4.83 from November.
In Idaho & Malheur County, Oregon, yellows today average $16.25, up $5.81 on average from November 27. Treasure Valley whites are now $32.75 on average, climbing $18.25 in that same span.
